Route: Ujjain – Indore – Omkareshwar – Maheshwar – Jabalpur – Bhedaghat – Varanasi
Ujjain & Omkareshwar: Energy on Another Level
There’s something truly unique about the energy in Ujjain and Omkareshwar. Both places radiate a spiritual intensity that is hard to describe—it’s something you have to experience for yourself.
Maheshwar: The Hidden Gem
Maheshwar is an absolute gem of a village. The legacy of Ahilyabai Holkar is everywhere you look. In fact, it’s the most prosperous village I’ve ever seen. The architecture of the Holkar palace (wada), the fort, and the temple on the ghat are stunningly beautiful. If you’re traveling through Madhya Pradesh, Maheshwar is a must-visit. Honestly, if a movie is ever made about Ahilyabai Holkar’s life, it should be filmed right here.
Bhedaghat & Dhuandhar Falls: Hauntingly Beautiful
Bhedaghat and Dhuandhar Falls are serene and hauntingly beautiful. The marble rocks and the roar of the falls create a mesmerizing atmosphere that stays with you long after you leave.
Indore: Cleanliness & Culinary Heaven
Indore is, hands down, the cleanest city in the country and an absolute paradise for vegetarians. The Sarafa night bazaar even turned someone like me—who’s usually indifferent to food—into a foodie for a night. The variety and flavors are simply irresistible!
Varanasi: Chaos, Culture, and Charm
Varanasi, in Uttar Pradesh, takes chaos to a whole new level. The two-wheeler riders here deserve an award for their driving skills. It’s a miracle that during my four days in the city, I didn’t witness a single accident or even a case of road rage! The street food, especially the sweets, is mouthwatering. Although I was a bit apprehensive about traveling to UP alone (this was my first trip here), the people of Varanasi were incredibly helpful.
Har Har Mahadev!
